Most Common Reasons a Bosch Dishwasher Is Leaking Water

- Wrong detergent, too much detergent, or overfilled rinse aid creates suds: Bosch manuals specifically connect suds with water leaks. A tall item, spray-arm problem, unlevel cabinet, or door interference can change how water reaches the front. Safe evidence is a front-corner leak after a load or installation change. Diagnosis must prove level, mounting, door alignment, vent path, spray pattern, and load clearance.
- The leak may be in the supply or fill path: Water already observed near the supply side, during fill, or while the appliance was off is a technician reproduction clue, not a valve diagnosis. Service must inspect the pressurized connection and inlet path, verify valve closure, and separate a connection leak from overfill control. This is not a homeowner kickplate check.
- The leak may be in the drain path: Water already observed only during discharge makes the drain route relevant without proving a pump or hose. Photograph an accessible under-sink wet point without disturbing it; service must trace the hose, connections, pump housing/seal, and backpressure.
- The leak may be inside the wash-circulation system: Water already observed under the cabinet during wash requires controlled source isolation after owner-visible door, suds, loading, and installation clues are excluded. Pump, diverter, sump, tub, and internal-seal names are technician hypotheses, not a part verdict from the puddle.
Use Location and Timing as Evidence, Not a Part Verdict
- Front edge or front corner during wash: Stop the cycle and photograph the first wet edge, visible foam, seal condition, and any item touching the door. Do not run another load to reproduce it.
- Under the cabinet during fill or wash: Stop the cycle and preserve the exact phase and first wet point. Do not remove the kickplate or choose a component from the floor location.
- Near the sink connection during drain: Stop the cycle and photograph the accessible connection without touching or tightening it. Use building or plumbing help if water cannot be contained safely.
- Water appears while the dishwasher is off: Close the safely accessible dishwasher supply and keep the appliance off; do not start a cycle to test the seepage.

When to Stop and Shut Off Water

What to Record Before Service
- Identity: Send the complete E-Nr/FD label.
- First wet point: Send a photo of the first place that became wet.
- Cycle phase: Record whether the leak appeared during fill, wash, drain, or while the dishwasher was off.
- Recent change: Record any detergent, loading, installation, plumbing, or repair change.
- Safety state: State whether the water is isolated; do not reopen the water or restart the dishwasher to create a better video.
