Most Common Reasons Bosch Range Hood Lights Are Not Working
- The whole hood has no usable power: Lighting cannot operate when the hood input is absent. Bosch troubleshooting begins with the connection, outage, and breaker state. Fan, display, and lights all dark support a supply problem. Diagnosis must verify the installed supply and appliance input; do not repeat breaker resets or test live wiring.
- The light command or brightness state is not being accepted: Bosch hoods can use buttons, touch controls, remotes, Home Connect, or model-specific brightness steps. A working fan with no display change when Light is pressed supports an input or control problem, not a burned-out lamp verdict. Service must confirm input registration and the requested light output.
- A documented owner-replaceable lamp has failed: Some HCB-family manuals show same-type bulb replacement after the hood is cool and power is isolated. One dark lamp, visible darkening, or a known lamp-age event supports this cause only when the exact E-Nr manual provides the procedure. Correct replacement restoring light is the no-repair exit; an unknown socket or lamp type is a stop.
- An integrated LED module or driver has failed: Current Bosch manuals state that defective LED lights on supported designs may be replaced only by the manufacturer, customer service, or a qualified electrician. All lighting dark while the fan works supports a lighting-output fault. Do not pry out a lens or module; diagnosis must separate the LED module, driver, wiring, and control output.
