What E9011 Means on a Bosch Induction Range

Bosch's current US slide-in range support defines E9011 as: the appliance is not connected properly. It is a connection-status code, not a control-board diagnosis and not a homeowner wiring procedure.

The code creates one primary service question: does the branch circuit and range connection match the complete E-Nr installation diagram and nameplate? If the external supply and connection are verified correct, service continues inside the range; the display alone does not identify an internal part.

E9011 Is Not the Same as U400

Bosch lists U400 separately on the slide-in range support surface as an incorrect supply-voltage condition. E9011 and U400 can both lead to electrical verification, but their official meanings are not interchangeable. Record the characters exactly.

Safe Checks That Change the Diagnosis

  • Photograph the code: Capture E9011 before any power change.
  • Record the model: Photograph the full E-Nr, including suffix, and FD/serial.
  • Note the event: New installation, move, electrical work, outage, or no recent change.
  • Check only visible context: Record whether the breaker opened, other range functions work, or heat/odor is present.

What Not to Do

  • Do not remove the terminal cover, move a hardwired range, or test live voltage.
  • Do not change conductors, jumpers, breaker size, or connection configuration.
  • Do not replace a control board because E9011 appeared.
  • Do not translate E9011 using a standalone-cooktop code list.

Stop Using the Range When

Leave power off if E9011 returns after the one model-documented reset, the breaker trips, the terminal or cabinet becomes unusually hot, or there is smoke, arcing, or electrical odor.

What a Technician Must Confirm

A qualified technician de-energizes the circuit, compares branch configuration and terminal landing with the exact E-Nr diagram, verifies conductor and termination condition, then measures the supply under controlled conditions. Only after the external connection is proved correct should internal harness, sensing, and power electronics be evaluated.

  • Identity: Complete E-Nr, FD/serial, and E9011 photo.
  • History: Installation date and any recent move, outage, breaker, or electrical work.
  • Scope: Which display and functions remain available.
